Before you move in
Is it free?
Yes. Free is your complete photo journal on this phone: camera, albums, seasons, map, search, import, and your own words. Stored locally. No subscription. MaM Keeper adds a protected cloud copy, restore on a new phone, and printable PDF photobooks.
How much is Keeper?
$9.99 a month, or $79.98 a year (about $6.67 a month when billed yearly, save about 33% with yearly billing), with a 7-day free trial. You can cancel anytime in your phone’s subscription settings. Prices follow your store when it shows a live price.
Is cloud backup really unlimited?
There is no gigabyte meter in the app. Keeper is designed for personal memory keeping. Reasonable technical limits protect the service from automated or abusive use; ordinary photo use is not affected. Exact technical ceilings live in our developer documentation and are enforced on the server.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep everything until the billing period ends. After that, new cloud uploads stop. Your existing cloud copies remain available for 90 days. During that time you can renew Keeper or save every memory to this phone (stored inside MaM on the device — not automatically into Apple Photos or Files). After 90 days the cloud copies are permanently deleted. Memories verified as saved locally remain in MaM unless you remove the app or its data. You can export your data without renewing.
Does Keeper keep my original camera files?
Keeper stores a high-quality, optimized cloud copy of each memory. It may not preserve the original file size or full camera resolution.
Can I export my data without Keeper?
Yes. Signed-in Free users and lapsed Keepers can export a structured archive of memory metadata and available full-size MaM image copies from Settings. PDF photobooks remain a Keeper presentation feature.
Can I use it on my iPad too?
Keeper gives you cloud sync across every device signed in with the same account. Free lives on one phone at a time.
Is the sample story a real person?
No. Marielle is fictional, and her photos are AI-generated. They live only on your device, and the moment you start your own story, they disappear forever.
Living here
What is a memory made of?
A photo, a date, and whatever you choose to add: a place, the weather, a mood, a few words, an album, a heart. Any of it is optional. The house never asks for more than you want to give.
Why do the walls change color?
The house follows the seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter, so your home feels the same sky you walk under. You can also pick the season by hand if you prefer.
What is “The MaM Paper”?
A quiet signature look we offer on photos: matte blacks, warm shadows, a whisper of grain. It makes a new photo feel like a memory you’ve kept for years. New captures start as Original; you can choose The MaM Paper per photo. The original is always kept.
What are moods and treasures?
A mood is a feeling you attach to a memory, so you can later find every rainy afternoon. A treasure is a memory you heart: the ones held closest, listed together on your profile.
What are albums and the season shelves?
Albums are private collections you name yourself. The season shelves are automatic. Every dated memory finds its season on your home screen. Undated memories rest in a drawer called the Shoebox until you date them.
What is the sky shrine in Settings?
A small window to your cloud. It tells you how many memories live above and when they were last visited. From there you can also bring a whole life home to a new phone.
What is App Lock?
An optional 4-digit PIN that locks the app after about fifteen seconds in the background. We give you a six-word recovery phrase when you set it up, in case you forget.
Your privacy
Where does my life live?
Free memories live on this phone and nowhere else. Keeper adds two quiet rooms: a European server for your records, and a Cloudflare storage space for your photos. Nothing crosses the Atlantic unless you bring it there yourself.
Who can read my memories?
Your library is protected by your account. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to cloud storage is restricted to operating and protecting the service. We do not use your memories for advertising or AI training, and we do not sell your personal data. Authorized administrative access may be used only when necessary for security, maintenance, legal obligations, or support requested by you.
What about the photo URLs in the cloud?
Temporary signed links are used when the app retrieves your photos. Those addresses expire after about one hour. The stored name is not a lasting public door; a fresh signed link is cut when the app needs one.
Can I take my memories with me?
Yes. At any time you can export an album or your whole library as a PDF photobook (Keeper), or clear the phone in one tap. Your data is not ours to keep.
What happens when I delete my account?
The cloud library is emptied, your profile disappears, and your authentication is revoked. Photos on your phone stay yours unless you choose to clear them too. There is no waiting period and no copy kept on our side.
Do you train AI on my photos?
No. We do not use your memories for advertising or AI training, and we do not sell your personal data.
Leaving, staying, and the quiet stuff
What if I lose my phone?
With Keeper, sign in on a new phone and the house will bring your life home in a small ceremony. Without Keeper, memories live only on the phone they were made on, which is why we recommend exporting a photobook every so often.
What if my internet drops?
Memories save to the phone first. Cloud backup tries quietly in the background and retries later. The toast reads: “Saved on this phone. Cloud backup will retry shortly.” Nothing is ever lost to a bad connection.
Can I keep only some memories in the cloud?
Not today. Keeper backs up everything or nothing. We chose simplicity over granularity, because choosing what to lose is a weight no-one should carry.
What can’t the house do yet?
No video memories, no shared family albums, and no web library yet (only the marketing and legal site exists). You can sign in with Apple or Google where those providers are available. Search covers place, captions, moods, dates, and album names, but not whispers, tags, or weather text. We’re building slowly, on purpose.
How do I reach you?
support@makeamemory.app. We read every message, and we answer as humans, not bots.
